About Resorts World Cruises
Resorts World Cruises was relaunched in 2022 as the successor to the insolvent Star Cruises / Dream Cruises (Genting Hong Kong). The company is headquartered in Singapore, and the ships continue to belong to the Genting Group of the Malaysian-Chinese Lim family. The brand's core focus is Asia cruising with an emphasis on casinos – Genting is a major player in the casino business.
The fleet comprises the Genting Dream (2016, 150,695 GRT, 3,352 guests, formerly the flagship of Dream Cruises) and the Resorts World One (2008, 75,338 GRT, 1,870 guests, formerly SuperStar Virgo). On-board concept: Chinese multilingual (Mandarin, English, Cantonese), large casinos, karaoke, Asian specialty restaurants alongside a Western main buffet, water slides, and a family program.
The on-board language is Chinese and English, and the on-board currency is the US dollar. Key route focuses include Southeast Asia (departing from Singapore and Hong Kong), North Asia (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan), and shorter 2- to 5-day voyages. Overnight cruises (high-seas casino trips) are popular among Asian business travelers.
