About Oceania Cruises

Oceania Cruises was founded in 2003 by former Renaissance Cruises members and today belongs to Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. The company is headquartered in Miami. The brand positions itself in the upper-premium segment with a clear focus on culinary excellence — the slogan The Finest Cuisine at Sea is backed by former creative director Jacques Pepin (Master Chef) and an above-average selection of restaurants.

The fleet includes the R-class ships (Insignia, Regatta, Nautica, Sirena — each 30,277 GRT, 684 guests, formerly Renaissance Cruises) as well as the larger Marina-class ships Marina (2011) and Riviera (2012) (66,000 GRT, 1,250 guests). With the Vista (2023) and Allura (planned 2025), a new Vista class was introduced at 67,000 GRT and 1,200 guests. The onboard language is English and the onboard currency is the US dollar.

Routes are worldwide, often featuring longer itineraries and unusual ports. Premium restaurants are available at no extra charge, complimentary beverages with meals, and premium bedding (Tranquility Bed with 1,000-thread-count linens). Target demographic: 50+, culinary-minded travelers who want something more than mainstream but aren't quite at the top of the luxury segment.
