Costa Crociere

Costa Crociere is Italy's oldest active cruise line – founded in 1854 in Genoa as an olive oil importer, later operating as a shipping company with cargo vessels, entering the passenger business in 1948. Today Costa belongs to Carnival Corporation and operates a fleet of ten ships with a multilingual on-board experience (Italian, German, English, French, Spanish). The home port is Savona, near Genoa.

The brand's core identity is the Italian way of life: on-board restaurants with regional cuisine, art and design elements from the various regions of Italy, and a show cooking programme featuring Michelin-starred chefs such as Bruno Barbieri. The fleet includes the LNG-powered Smeralda class (Costa Smeralda 2019, Costa Toscana 2021 – each with 185,000 GT), the Vista class (Costa Firenze), the Concordia class (Costa Diadema, Pacifica, Serena, Favolosa, Fascinosa), as well as Costa Deliziosa and Costa Fortuna.

The on-board currency is the euro. Route highlights include the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean – Costa ships attract many German-speaking guests who want to enjoy Italian flair without a language barrier. Costa positions itself as more competitively priced than AIDA, with a similar family programme and aqua park.
