Ambassador Cruise Line
About Ambassador Cruise Line
Ambassador Cruise Line was founded in 2021 during the pandemic and positions itself as a smaller, traditional British cruise line headquartered in Purfleet (London-Tilbury). The brand fills the gap left by the collapse of Cruise & Maritime Voyages in 2020 and targets loyal British 50+ guests with a focus on classic shipboard elegance.
The fleet comprises Ambience (2008, ex Regal Princess / Pacific Dawn) and its sister ship Ambition (ex AIDAaura, released by Carnival in 2023), which joined the fleet in 2024. Both ships are smaller than most mainstream liners, with a traditional layout (multiple main restaurants, theatre, casino, pool deck), but without a water park or similar mega-attractions.
The onboard language is English and the onboard currency is the British Pound. Route highlights include the Mediterranean, Norwegian Fjords, British Isles, Caribbean and longer world voyages, all departing from Tilbury (with coach connections from across the UK). Target audience: primarily British 50+ travellers on a modest budget who want the classic cruise experience without the hustle and bustle of a mega-ship.
