Royal Caribbean put the Icon of the Seas into service in January 2024 – at 248,663 GT and 365 metres in length, the world's largest cruise ship. She replaces the Wonder of the Seas (236,857 GT) as queen of the seas.
What makes the Icon unique
The Icon is Royal Caribbean's first LNG-powered ship – with lower emissions than its Oasis-class predecessors. Eight water slides (Frightening Bolt is the largest at sea) and the new Surfside themed area for young children complement Royal Caribbean's well-known Neighborhoods concept.
Routes 2026
Home port Miami, year-round 7-day Caribbean routes with stops at the line's own port, Perfect Day at CocoCay (Bahamas). Plus sister ship Star of the Seas, which enters service in summer 2025.
